MoL achieves 56.82% of employment, training plan in H1

Muscat: The Ministry of Labour (MoL) said on Thursday that the number of  employment and training opportunities stood at 34,092 during the first half of 2026, achieving 56.82 per cent of its target for the year, according to detailed indicators released by the MoL.

According to the ministry, the employment and replacement initiatives accounted for 26,434 opportunities, representing 61 per cent of the targeted achievement during the six-month period.

Meanwhile, training programmes linked to employment and replacement recorded 7,658 beneficiaries, achieving 45 per cent of the planned target.

The ministry also revealed that total employment during the first half of the year reached 62,931 individuals. Of these, 34,092 secured jobs for the first time, while 28,839 were jobseekers with previous work experience who re-entered the labour market.
